Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach

Behind the scenes in the spirit of the Holy Month

Ramadan, the Muslim holy month, is a time for worship and contemplation. This year, we anticipate that Ramadan will start on Monday 6th of May 2019 subject to the sighting of the moon, and continue for 30 days until Tuesday, June 4th. The period ends with Eid al-Fitr, a three-day celebration that marks the conclusion of Ramadan. The first day of Eid begins before dawn and is a family affair. Eid is a time to be thankful and generous.

Four Seasons Dubai is embracing the spirit of Ramadan with joyful hearts this year and with a variety of exceptional experiences. You might find yourself wondering what does that means, so let’s take a look what the Four Seasons Dubai hotels do during Ramadan.

A big part of the Four Seasons Dubai employees are fasting during the spiritual month, and some non-Muslims join in to try out this body and mind purifying experience. Due to this, both hotels distribute the work load evenly among colleagues, to ensure everyone can get the most out of this special time. To break the fast, Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach offers a daily Iftar at SUQ restaurant and tent to mark the occasion, which is ideal for celebrating together with families and loved ones, while at Four Seasons Hotel DIFC the award-winning MINA Brasserie will serve a delicious four-course Iftar sharing menu. On the first day of Ramadan the resort organizes a team Iftar to all employees, to introduce the traditions of Ramadan to their new team members and let the older members recapture the memories from previous years.

Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach will also be encouraging everyone to get moving this Ramadan with a series of light exercise sessions in the tranquil indoor pool at the resort or to unwind and relax with massages at The Pearl Spa. #MoveThisRamadan campaign is making the most of sunset with light exercise before Iftar. The resort will invite local residents and hotel guests to take part in restorative stretching and yoga classes, and all classes are complimentary with the guidance of the in-house personal trainer.

To mention a few interesting facts about the Holy Month; it is in good manners to wish “Ramadan Kareem”, which translates to “may Ramadan be generous to you”, to Muslim friends and colleagues during this important time. Eating, drinking and smoking are allowed in hotels in designated areas and in the privacy of one’s home, as long as it is done out of the public eye. Another important aspect for people observing Ramadan is to give to charities since this Month is renowned for its charitable nature. Four Seasons Resort Dubai at Jumeirah Beach follow this tradition by organizing a charity Iftar for a local community representing young adults with special needs to provide support towards their cause. At Four Seasons Hotel DIFC, the valet service, along the Hotel Manager, prepares Ramadan gift boxes with dates and food inside to give away to the local taxi drivers.

Ramadan is a great opportunity for to learn and experience some traditional Arabic cuisine and entertainment, and everyone at Four Seasons Dubai embraces this meaningful time with hope and anticipation.
